Travel Canada Forums

a visitor in UK can apply for canada?
Well, this is a travel forum, not an immigration forum. Look on the net for Immigration Canada, or the Customs and Border Services Agency. Those sites are likely to have information that may be of assistance..

Ottawa - good and bad bars
I went to uni for a bit in Ottawa. Bank street is a bit of a bad place as you describe. Most underage people go over the water to Hull where you can drink a year younger....

Scenic train journey's in Canada
I agree with Red Tape. I want to do that journey one day. Can you also go east from Toronto, perhaps through to Halifax? not sure about that but i remember reading something about it. another journey which i did but One day of is to take the train from Jasper up to Prince Rupert. you spend half a day travelling to Prince George ( where I got off) then spend the night in that town. early the next day, you travel all day up north to Prince Rupert, which is the gateway to whales, artic stuff, and lots of wildreness. Plus there is a ferry which travels down the Inside passage during the day, ( summer anyhow it is light the whole time) and then arrives at the tip of Vancouver Island at 11pm. I think you then travel by bus to Victoria taking another whole day but you would have to check that.

Montreal on a student budget
Hi everyone, I'm glad I found this forum and this is my first post here. I am a college student and plan to go to Montreal for spring break with some friends. However, I'm not experienced at all in traveling so I don't really know where to start. I was planning to take Amtrak from New York to Montreal, as this seems to be the cheapest option. As for lodging, I plan to stay in a hostel. Anyone have recommendations for hostels? If possible, hostels that are less than 20 USD a night (if they exist). I'm also looking for some things to do in Montreal. What are the highlights? What things are necessary to do or see within a one-week time frame? Also, how is public transportation? What is the easiest way to get around? Also, I am planning to hit some clubs at night. Anyone know of any good 18+ night clubs? I know these are broad questions but any help would be appreciated.
